Educate and Advocate

There are many ways to spread the word to family, friends, and your community about the cat overpopulation situation in Surrey and how all of you can make a difference to improve the lives of these cats and improve our community. Some of those ways include:

  • Talk about the importance of spaying and neutering their cats.

  • Encourage your vet to provide free or low-cost spay and neuter surgeries to people with low incomes.

  • Do a presentation at your school, church, or other community group.

  • Write to the Mayor of Surrey and City Councillors about the problem and find out what their proposed solutions are. Ask them the questions we prepared. Their contact information is listed on the City of Surrey website. If you get a response, please forward a copy to us at surreycats@shaw.ca.
